UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) website. The page provides a wealth of documentation, including major human rights treaties, links to treaty bodies that monitor compliance with these treaties, and other international human rights instruments, as well as a directory of human rights information by country.

Inter-American Commission on Human Rights

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights is an official organ of the Organization of American States (OAS). It is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and conducts fieldwork and hearings in other countries. The Commission functions as a “constitutive organ” and as a “treaty organ”.

Inter-American Court of Human Rights

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights is also an official organ of the OAS. It was created in 1979, with the entry into force of the American Convention on Human Rights, and is located in San José, Costa Rica. The Court's main role is to act as the final adjudicator of petitions seeking redress for violating the rights guaranteed by the Convention. It also issues advisory opinions. Brazil accepts the jurisdiction of this Court and the decisions are available on the website of the National Council of Justice will also find information on the website of the Federal Public Ministry.

Latin American and Caribbean Committee for the Defense of Women's Rights

CLADEM contributes, in a feminist and intersectional perspective, to the construction and strengthening of democracies with social justice, free from discrimination and to the full exercise of human rights. It is configured as a regional network that articulates women and organizations that have a feminist socio-legal focus.

Global Public Health-An International Journal for Research, Policy and Practice

This open access journal publishes research in public health, including social and cultural aspects of global health issues. With a global and multidisciplinary focus, it emphasizes global health issues with a special concern for understanding poor and rich countries, including the public health challenges they face as part of a single, interactive and global system. Available sections include approaches to international health policy and practice, including social justice, human rights and health.

Health and Human Rights Journal

The open access journal brings together several publications on health and human rights since the 1990s. The editions emphasize conceptual foundations of human rights in health and the challenges of the discourse of rights, as well as seek to give a voice to academic activism in favor of human rights. The editions are dedicated to academic praxis that aims to advance health as a fundamental human right and social justice.

O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University

This Center for Law at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. develops activities related to public and private law in the analysis of health policies. It brings together researchers and resources from the School of Nursing and Health Studies, School of Medicine, McCourt School of Public Policy and Kennedy Institute of Ethics. It has a free online Global Health and Human Rights Database of laws from around the world related to health and human rights, interactive and indexed case law, national constitutions, and international instruments. USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health of University of Southern California

The Global Health and Human Rights Program (GHHR), an integral component of the USC Institute of Inequalities in Global Health, is at the forefront of expanding research in the field of health and human rights and is a leader in developing tools for analysis, programmatic intervention, monitoring and evaluation. The GHHR’s task is to document examples of how human rights-based approaches to health make a greater positive difference in the lives of individuals and populations in various areas, including HIV / AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, child and adolescent health and health systems empowerment. The GHHR emphasizes the conceptual, methodological, political and practical implications of linking health to human rights, with special attention to women, children, gender issues and vulnerable populations.

NATIONAL LINKS

Brazilian Interdisciplinary AIDS Association

ABIA confronts the HIV and AIDS epidemic from the perspective of human rights, based on the principles of solidarity, social justice and democracy. Currently, it acts as a National Observatory of AIDS Policies, proposing to be a critical observatory of the social determinants of the HIV / AIDS epidemic and of political responses and collective mobilizations in the national and international context.

Health Promotion Center

The Health Promotion Center (Cedaps), an organization active since 1993 in Rio de Janeiro, seeks to promote the full participation of popular communities in the development processes and the improvement of public policies that operate in these territories. Latin American Center on Sexuality and Human Rights

The main purpose of CLAM is to produce, organize and disseminate knowledge about sexuality from the perspective of human rights. It seeks to contribute to the reduction of gender inequalities and to the fight against discrimination of sexual minorities in the region.

Center for Studies and Research in Health Law

Non-profit association, created in 1988 by a group of professors, researchers and professionals in the fields of health and Law, the Center for Studies and Research in Health Law (Cepedisa) aims to develop and disseminate a new field of scientific knowledge: Health Law. Cepedisa is part of the Center for Research in Health Law at the University of São Paulo (NAP-DISA/USP). It has a wide bibliographic and activities collection.

CEPIA is a non-governmental organization that carries out projects aimed at expanding and enforcing human rights and strengthening citizenship among historically excluded groups in Brazil.

AIDS Prevention Studies Center

The AIDS Prevention Studies Center (NEPAIDS) brings together researchers, professors, undergraduate and graduate students, civil servants and NGOs to analyze trends in the epidemic and produce innovative research and technologies to prevent HIV infection or illness due to HIV / AIDS.

Observatório de Favelas (“Slum Observatory”)

The Observatorio de Favelas seeks to expand the repertoire of representations of the favelas and the level of democratization of communication. Through its set of actions, it builds proposals for the elaboration of public policies and educational initiatives.

The SUS Series was created in 2015 with the aim of talking to the population about the Unified Health System (SUS). The idea came from the need to try to discuss SUS beyond its problems and what the traditional press used to talk about. Its YouTube channel has videos with simple language that highlight positive aspects of SUS.
